Connect, use and remove JoinlyMeeting
This guide explains account-free joining, Zoom authorization, meeting features, disconnection and deletion of related local data.
Join without connecting an account
- Open JoinlyMeeting on a Mac running macOS 15 or later.
- Select Join Meeting.
- Paste a Zoom invitation link or enter the meeting ID and optional passcode.
- Continue to Zoom. Joining does not require authorizing JoinlyMeeting to your Zoom account.
Connect Zoom for account features
- Open Settings and select Connect Zoom.
- The system browser opens Zoom’s authorization page.
- Sign in to the Zoom account you want to use, review the requested permissions and authorize JoinlyMeeting.
- Return to the app. The account status changes to Connected securely and upcoming meetings can be refreshed.
Use the four main actions
- Create Meeting: creates an instant meeting for the authorized Zoom account and continues with its host URL.
- Join Meeting: accepts a Zoom invitation link or meeting ID and optional passcode without account authorization.
- Schedule: choose a topic, date, time and duration. JoinlyMeeting creates the meeting in Zoom and refreshes the meeting list.
- Record: starts an optional local capture after macOS grants the selected permissions.
Today’s meetings
The meeting view lists upcoming scheduled Zoom meetings for the connected account. Select Refresh to request an updated list. If nothing appears, confirm that the account is connected and that the account actually contains an upcoming scheduled meeting.
Whiteboard and local files
Whiteboard notes are stored locally and may be pinned for easier organization. Recordings are saved locally in Movies/Joinly. JoinlyMeeting does not upload this content to an operator-hosted backend.
Disconnect, revoke access and delete data
- In Settings, select Disconnect Zoom. The app deletes locally stored Zoom OAuth tokens from macOS Keychain and clears the current meeting list.
- To revoke access at Zoom, sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace, open Manage → Added Apps, select Joinly for Zoom Meetings and choose Remove.
- Delete recordings you no longer want from Movies/Joinly.
- Delete local notes and preferences by removing the app’s local container, then move Joinly to Trash. Contact support if you need help locating the correct container for your installed build.
Permissions and scopes
The app requests Zoom permissions only to create or schedule meetings and list meetings for the authorized user. It does not request Zoom profile or administrator scopes. macOS microphone and screen-recording permissions are requested only when a capture feature needs them.
